3.1. Graduate Profile

After completing all the learning process in Civil Engineering Program UMY, graduates can have the expertise such as

  1. Consultant
  2. Academics, lecturers, and researchers, and
  3. Contractor of construction service

3.2.  Competence of Graduates

Department of civil engineering attempted to produce a graduate which have competences such as

  1. Able to understand the basics knowledge and apply it in the field of civil engineering
  2. Able to identify and formulate the problem based on the basics knowledge and principle of civil engineering
  3. Able to examine, analyze, and solve the civil engineering problem
  4. Able to plan and designing civil engineering building, whether individually or team and communicate them effectively
  5. Have a managing motivation and able to work together in a team to perform a work and maintain the civil engineering building

Supporting competencies from Civil Engineering of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta

  1. Able to operating any software in the field of Civil Engineering
  2. Able to compile reports or scientific work in the field of Civil Engineering and communicate it with other effectively
  3. Able to improve their self for life-long learning, Islamic personality as an Indonesian)

3.3.     Subject Plan

Referring to the Decree of National ministry of Indonesia number 232/U/2000 about the guidance of curriculum arrangement for higher education and assessment for student learning result, subject to reach the competence of graduate are divided into 5 (five) groups, they are

  1. Subject of personality supporting, that is consist of subject that relevant with the goal of knowledge enrichment, deepening of understanding intensity and viewing
  2. Subject of social life, that is consist of subject that relevant with the understanding effort and mastering the condition that applied in society file, whether nationally or globally, that limiting the ones work that fit with their expertise
  3. Subject of working attitude, that is consist of subject that relevant, aim to strengthen the mastery and enlarge the knowledge of working that appropriate with the provisions that apply in the community
  4. Subject of expertise  and skill, consist of subject that relevant for strengthen the mastery and enlarge the knowledge of scholarship competence based on competitive leading and comparative in implementation of Civil Engineering)
  5. Subject of working skill, consist of subject that relevant, aim for strengthen the mastery and enlarge the competencies in working in society based on the competitive leading and comparative in implementation of Civil Engineering)

Civil Enginering Department of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta has 5 (Five field of expertise, namely :

  2. Geotechnical Engineering,
  3. Transportation and Highway Engineering,
  4. Water Resources and Environmental Engineering,
  5. Construction Management.

Observe the subject group and knowledge field, table 4.1 serves the planning of material in the subject. Potential topic is the main discussion that can support the competence achievement in each subject group and knowledge field
